Number of fake quake victims increases in Dhading
DHADING: After an announcement of the government to distribute lands to the earthquake victims for temporary settlement, the number of fake earthquake victims has increased in Dhading district, of late.
The real victims are shadowed after the fake earthquake victims started to shift to makeshift houses near Dhadingbesi, the district headquarters of Dhading.
According to the District Natural Disaster Management Committee, more than 226 families living in the makeshift houses are found to be fake earthquake victims.
In greed of getting relief package, the number of fake earthquake victims has increased, the Committee informed.
A team deployed by the government has found that the number of fake earthquake victims has increased.
As many as 5,125 people of 1,202 households are currently living in makeshift houses in various parts of the district.
The Committee informed that members of one family are currently living in different makeshift houses to get the relief package.
People of five VDCs of northern part of the district, who were badly affected by the earthquake, had shifted to Dhadingbesi for safety.
However, due to the increase in number of the fake earthquake victims, the genuine ones are deprived of relief.
