Bhojpur, November 21

Khandbari Municipality has offered ‘Child Nutrition Bag’ programme to pregnant women who want to give birth at the birthing centre in Sankhuwasabha.

The programme was operated with the aim of saving children and mothers from malnutrition.

Pregnant women of the municipality will get Rs 3,000 each under the programme to motivate them to give birth at the birthing centre.

Municipality Mayor Murari Prasad Khatiwada said the municipality had offered the amount thinking it would help in purchasing nutritious food for the mother and baby. He said the programme was brought under the policy and programme of the fiscal 2019-20.

The mayor said the number of women wanting to deliver at the birthing centre had increased after implementation of the programme. The municipality also managed ambulance service free of cost for pregnant women.
