Nyadi hydel gets assistance from banks

As many as six organisations, including banks as well as investment and development companies, have decided to invest in the 30 MW Nyadi Hydro Power Project in Lamjung.

The financial institutions have committed a loan of Rs 4.4 billion for the project. Everest Bank has decided to pitch in one billion rupees whereas Himalayan Bank, Nabil Bank along with other hydropower investment and development companies are supposed to invest Rs 750 million each.

Other institutions are said to be footing the remaining amount for the project. Similarly, Global IME Bank and Sunrise Bank have also decided to invest in the hydro project.

The project is slated to complete within four years with Butwal Power Company as major stockholder and Lamjung Electricity Development Company as minor shareholder.

Butwal Power Company has also invested in Aandhikhola, Khudi, Tallo Manang Marsyangdi besides Labeli and Nyadi Hydropower.
