KATHMANDU: Officials of various transport associations are being arrested for their support of the syndicate system and halting operation of public vehicles, today.

Police under instruction of Home Ministry today arrested officials of Mechi Bus Entrepreneurs Association, East-Nepal Bus Entrepreneurs Association, Himal Transportation Entrepreneurs Association, Sagarmatha Transportation Entrepreneurs Association, West-Nepal Bus Entrepreneurs Association.

Earlier, Home Ministry had instructed Chief District Officers of all 77 districts to carry take necessary action against transport associations in their respective districts for their support of transport syndicate.

The public transportation service across the nation has been disrupted after the Federation of Nepalese National Transport Entrepreneurs Association (FNNTEA) called for the protest today.
