Okhaldhunga development budget freezes

Around 660 million rupees of the development budget allocated for Okhaldhunga froze after the amount couldn’t be used in the last fiscal.

Of the total allocation of Rs 2.12 billion under capital expenditure for the district, only Rs 1.46 billion was spent.

“As all of the allocated budget couldn’t be spent, it was frozen,” said Bishnu Dahal of the District Treasury Comptroller office, adding, “While the unused amount of the local bodies will be deposited in the reserve fund in the local level itself, in case of other offices, the unused fund will be deposited in the federal reserve fund.”

The highest amount frozen was from Division Road Office. Of the total 587.85 million rupees it had got for capital expenditure, only 445.657 million rupees was spent.
