Oli holds talks with Vietnam leader

Kathmandu, September 16 :

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs KP Sharma Oli met his Vietnamese counterpart Pham Gia Khiem in Havana today.

The two leaders exchanged views on matters of mutual interest, stressed the need to widen areas of cooperation, and expressed commitment to expand economic and commercial relations.

DPM Oli briefed Khiem on the current situation in Nepal, particularly the success of the people’s movement in defeating autocracy, and the ongoing peace process. He also congratulated the people of Vietnam for their recent economic ach-ievements. The DPM of Vietnam noted that Nepali people had overcome many difficulties. The leaders also asked each other to visit the two countries.

Earlier in the morning, DPM Oli had attended the inaugural ceremony of the 14th Summit Conference at the International Convention Centre in Havana.
