Oli sees need of unity until election

POKHARA: CPN-UML Chair KP Sharma Oli on Saturday has called on political parties to work in unison until the transition in the country gets over.

Addressing a mass rally at  Amarsingh Chaur of Pokhara, which was organised to mark the party's victory in Pokhara-Lekhnath Metropolitan City in the first round of local level polls, Oli said there was no alternative to a political consensus until the completion of the elections (second-phase local level, provincial and federal) for the implementation of the constitution.

The UML chair further said the party would not claim its leadership in the new government.

He took a time to call on Rastriya Janata Party to internalise the current major responsibility of the nation which is to hold three-tier of elections by January 21 next year and to participate in the election. Party's 'genuine' demands could be addressed even after the elections, he added.

The newly elected mayor of Pokhara Lekhnath Mteropolitian City, Man Bahadur GC, promised to fulfil the responsibility he was given by the Metropolitan city people by electing him to the post, adding that he would take people's representatives in the metropolis into confidence.

He vowed for better road and drinking water facilities in the town within the next three years.
