GAIGHAT: Employees of the Udayapur District Forest Office padlocked the office gate on Monday demanding release of three Chitwan National Park employees, who are in police custody. The daily work of the office was obstructed by the lock out programme and the locals, forest contractors and officials of forest user groups, who had gone to the office, had to return. — HNS

Car, valuables looted

DHADING: An unidentified group looted a car, cash and other valuables from Shailesh Kumar Varma at Naubise of Dhading on Sunday night. Varma was heading to Gorakhpur of India from Kathmandu in the car when the group overpowered him and made away with cash, mobile and the car UP 53 D 7484, the Area Police Office Khanikhola, said. — HNS

Maoists abduct two

PHIDIM: Maoists on Sunday abducted two persons including headmaster of Amarpur School, Keshav Gautam, of Panchthar. Maoists abducted headmaster Gautam and Krishna Dhital, both members of Majhebung Community Forest Users’ Committee, when they refused to give donation of Rs 60,000 the Maoists had demanded from the Committee, Panchthar NC leader Narendra Kerung said. However, Maoists district member Parbat said they did not know of the incident.— HNS
