Other Maoist cadres — Balram Kafle, Rupa Chaudhary and Om Kumar Chaudhary — have been fasting for the last eight days demanding their two-point demand be met. Meanwhile, a report from Mahottari said 250 detainees of Jaleshwor jail, forwarding their 23-point demand, have started their relay hunger strike on Sunday. — HNS

Order to free Maoists

ILAM: The appellate court Ilam has issued an order to release six Maoist prisoners on Sunday. The inmates will be released on Monday. Meanwhile, a report from Hetauda, quoting district-level Maoist leader Bhim Pakhrin, said security men deployed at the security base camp at Piple Campadanda arrested a Maoist cadre, Rohit, on Sunday morning.—HNS
