BIRATNAGAR: A group of armed Maoists abducted one Bhim Basnet, a teacher of Okhre Secondary School, Terhathum, on Saturday night. Maoists tied his hands and beat him up before taking him away, schools sources said.— HNS

Mishap claims one

BARA: One Chini Maya Bal, 20, a resident of Dumarwana-7 of the district was killed on the spot as a van bound for Lahan from Mahendrnagar hit her bicycle at Nijgarh-8, Bakaiya on the Pathalaiya-Nijgarh road section along the Mahendra Highway on Sunday, Traffic Police, said. —HNS

Ex-Gurkhas’ plan

Dharan: The Ex-Gurkha Army Association is to file cases against the British government. Govt forms task force

KATHMANDU: The government has formed a task force under the convenorship of joint secretary at the Ministry of Land Reforms and Management Baburam Acharya to prepare institutional structure for an objective, credible and effective evaluation system, and draft an Act, for maintaining uniformity in the property (houses and real estate) evaluation. The panel will submit the draft by the end of April, the ministry stated on Sunday. — RSS

One killed in Morang

BIRATNAGAR: An unidentified group of around 20 armed people killed on Saturday night Shiv Prasad Limbu (22), a policeman in Singapore, at Siswani Badahara of Morang, according to Morang district police office. The group stabbed knife and shot Limbu to death. — HNS

Dacoits loot property

LAHAN: Breaking the patrol of locals, a gang of dacoits looted property worth Rs 3 lakhs from two houses in Khirauna VDC-7 of Siraha on Saturday night. Dacoits created terror in the village by exploding bombs before looting the houses of Manoj Shah and Suresh Kumar Shah. — HNS
