World Bank assistance
LALITPUR: The World Bank will provide assistance of $320 million to Nepal for construction of rural roads and suspension bridges over the next five years. This is the largest amount that the WB has provided as grant to Nepal. The amount will be spent on rural access reform and decentralisation projects over five years by the Local Infrastructure Development and Agriculture Road Department, it was informed at a programme organised here on Sunday. — RSS
Seven hurt in mishap
CHITWAN: Seven passengers were injured when a microbus bearing registration Na 3 Kha 270 heading for Kathmandu from Dang met with an accident at Materi of Kabilasi VDC on Sunday, District Police Office Chitwan said. The injured cleaner of the microbus Nawin Sharma and others are undergoing treatment at the Bharatpur Hospital. — RSS
RNA officers demoted
Kathmandu: A summary court martial of the Royal Nepalese Army (RNA) has punished commanders for ordering troops to board a passenger bus in Kavrepalanchowk district. The military court demoted two Captains to Lieutenant and also stopped the he promotion of a lieutenant, the RNA directorate of public relations said. The action transpired as the officers had acted against army policy. —HNS
