BARA: A gang of armed dacoits looted property worth Rs 100,000 from Chanda Rice Mill of Motisar VDC-1, Bara, on Wednesday night. The gang looted Rs 53,960 in cash, a television set and other commodities after overpowering Rasul Miya, the mill owner, locals said. — HNS

LAHAN: A total of 153 civil servants, including five officers, were absent from their offices when the District Administration Office, Lahan, conducted a surprise check in different government offices in Lahan on Wednesday.
