Landslide blocks road

MYAGDI: Transport services of the Beni-Jomsom road section halted from Tuesday following a landslide at Chamere of Pilpe VDC-4. People of the area have been affected due to the obstruction of the highway. The landslide also swept away drinking water pipelines of Beni, Mangalghat and Galewsor area. Treasurer of Beni Drinking Water Users Committee Yam Shakya informed that they had already started repair works. He also informed that they had been providing water to the people through alternative sources. Meanwhile, transport entrepreneurs demanded the construction of the road at the earliest. Chairman of the Myagdi Jeep and Bus operating committee, Raj Kumar Shrestha, said that the closure of the road had adversely affected the daily lives of the locals. — HNS


Father's appeal

MYAGDI: An elderly from Parbat district has requested the local peace committee to trace his son who has gone missing from the past four years. Til Bahadur Kunwar of Thanamoula-4 of Parbat district made such a request for the search of his missing son Ashutosh Kunwar, a sub-inspector serving in the Rukum District Police Office. Ashutosh had gone out of contact while returning home from Nepal Police Headquarters, Kathmandu. He had gone to Kathmandu in course of official task.

Although the INSEC has listed Ashutosh as a disappeared person, the Police HQ said he was not disappeared but absconding. — RSS
