Nepalgunj: Journalists on Wednesday took out a rall demanding full press freedom. Members of civil society, human rights workers, political parties’ cadres also attended the rally which began from the Federation of Nepalese Journalists’ office and converted into a street corner meeting at Pushpa Lal Chowk. — HNS

RCCC lauded

Kathmandu: Former deputy prime minister and president of Nepal Sadbhawana Party (NSP), Badri Prasad Mandal, on Wednesday lauded the initiatives of the Royal Commission for Corruption Control (RCCC) to curb corruption, saying such anti-graft bodies should be formed in every sector. Mandal, who was among those acquitted by RCCC in the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund case, said existing laws cannot bring the corrupt to book. — HNS

Six injured

CHERNETA: Six persons were injured when a jeep en route from Jhiwang to Bijuwar, met with an accident when it skidded 150 metres down the road on Wednesday. Four of the injured are said to be critical, according to district hospital of Bijuwar. The other two have returned home.The driver, Shanker DC, was not hurt. — HNS
