Landslide kills woman

RAMECCHAP: A female daily wage worker died due to landslide at Kunauti in the Manthali-Khurkot Road section. According to DSP Naba Raj Bhatta, Dalli Majhi, 27, of Bhalujor VDC-1, Kunauti, died and another worker was injured due to the landslide while they were working.

BARA: An unidentified gang torched the Evergreen Boarding School located at Bhawanipur Jitpur VDC of Bara district on Friday morning. A group of four to five persons sprayed petrol in the office of the school and set it on fire, eyewitnesses said.Some documents and furniture were gutted. — HNS

BIRGUNJ: A man has donated Rs 2,000 in cash for Indira Poudel, who is taking shelter on the roadside while seeking treatment for her son. The donor came with the contribution after he noticed her photograph on the front page of The Himalayan Times. Owner of a photo studio in Birgunj - 10, Panitanki, Bhushan Timala handed over the sum to The Himalayan Times correspondent as assistance for Indira. Timala also assured of help for Indira’s son’s eye treatment. — HNS
