King gets credentials

KATHMANDU: King Gyanendra on Friday accepted the letters of credence from the ambassador-designate of Russia to Nepal, Andrey Leonidovich Trofimove and that of the ambassador-designate of Ireland, Kieran Dowling respectively, amid special functions held separately at the Narayanhiti Royal Palace, according to the royal secretariat. — RSS

Eight sheds gutted

JALESHWOR: A fire on Friday morning in the centre of Mahottari district’s headquarter, Jaleshwor, gutted eight sheds. Electrical short circuit is suspected to be the cause of the fire. Firemen and police brought the blaze under control. Officials said the spot being at a sensitive location, any delay would have caused extensive damage to the entire area. — HNS

DHADING: Maoists set a tanker on fire at Charaudi Bazaar along Prithvi Highway on Thursday

Pokhara blast

Pokhara: An unidentified gang exploded a bomb in Motherland Boarding School located at Masbar in Pokhara, this morning. According to the district police office, the explosion damaged the accounts and administration sections of the school. It also shattered window panes.. —HNS
