Diarrhoea claims 6

JAJARKOT: Diarrhoea claimed six more lives in Jajarkot, Rukum and Achham districts on Friday. Three persons in Jajarkot, two in Rukum and one person in Achham succumbed to the disease despite authorities' claim that the disease was going to be controlled shortly. According to the police, the deceased have been identified as Bam Bahadur Singh (57), Draupati Shahi (58) and Chandra Kumari BK of Jajarkot. Likewise, Lalsari Bhandari (60) and Manmaya Sharki (6) were those dead in Rukum and Pabi BK in Achham. The death toll due to the outbreak has reached 196 in Jajarkot, 50 in Rukum and 14 in Achham. —HNS

One killed in mishap

PARASI: A person was killed when a truck met with an accident at Bardaghat along the East-West Highway in Nawalparasi district on Thursday night. Helper Rajan Pandey (20), a resident of Cheetwa of the district, was killed in the mishap, Nawalparasi District Police Office said. Pandey had died on the spot. — HNS
