Maoists torch jeeps

PALPA: Maoists on Saturday torched an Indian jeep at Bhalebas on Butwal-Tansen sector of Siddhartha Highway. The Sunauli-bound vehicle was carrying one Nepali and three Indians from Pokhara. Meanwhile, the Maoists torched and destroyed a private jeep at Krishnapur VDC near Gularia, Bardiya, on Saturday. They forced the passengers off the vehicle and set it on fire. — HNS

Campus gets Rs 11.3m aid

GAIGHAT: Indian embassy is providing Rs 11.3 million for the construction of a library at Triyuga Multiple Campus, Gaighat. Local development officer Babu Ram Gautam said a contract between the Indian embassy and Ministry of Local Development has been signed last week regarding the aid to construct the 14-room Gandhi Library. — HNS

Woman Maoist arrested

NEPALGUNJ: Security forces arrested a woman Maoist following a clash between Maoists and a security patrol team in Rolpa district on Saturday. The clash followed the Maoist attack on a special operation of the security forces at Seram of Gam VDC in Rolpa. The RNA has brought Maoist cadre Boni Rokka, who was injured in the clash, to Nepalgunj for treatment. She is being treated at Bheri Zonal Hospital in Nepalgunj. — HNS
