Locals, cops clash
RUPANDEHI: Agitating locals on Thursday clashed with police at Ramapur along the East-West Highway. They were obstructing the road over the suspected murder of one Krishna Prasad Banjade. His body was found on the bank of Inguria River on Thursday morning. Kin of the deceased halted traffic on the highway demanding probe into the incident. The clash ensued when the police used force to resume the traffic. Police said tear gas shells were fired to disperse the mob after a police person was injured. — HNS
17 hurt in accident
TRISHULI: Seventeen people were injured when a tractor met with an accident near Bandevi Temple at Indrenighat of Dhading on Thursday. The vehicle was carrying members of a funeral procession from Nuwakot Durbar area. The accident occurred because of excessive load, police said. Condition of two of the injured is serious. — RSS
Migrant worker dies
ILAM: One Nepali migrant worker, who had reached United Arab Emirates for job, died there a few days ago. Jaya Kumar Thebe, 47, of Jamuna-4 in Ilam, who had reached the Gulf country one-and-a-half years ago, died in a local hospital while undergoing treatment, family source said. The body of the deceased is yet to be brought here for funeral rites. — RSS
