'Prez should correct

LAMJUNG: Senior leader of UCPN-Maoist Dev Prasad Gurung on Saturday said the President should correct his move by himself, threatening to take action against him in the parliament. Speaking at an interaction in Beshisahar, he said foreign forces were trying to fulfill their interest by inciting conflict among political parties. Gurung claimed that consensus among political parties and writing the new constitution could not be accomplished until the mobilisation of external forces. — HNS

Maoists thrash local

LAMJUNG: District secretary of UCPN-Maoist Bed Bahadur Tamu Karsang thrashed a local in Chyamche of Taghring VDC-1, Manang, on Saturday. Karsang beat Gam Bahadur Tamang, owner of Natural View Hotel, over a land dispute. The victim has also alleged VDC secretary Kuber Singh Gurung for the assault. Earlier, Lamjung court had given the ownership of the disputed land to Urmaya Tamang, the victim’s mother. The Maoists, however, captured the land claiming that it belonged to Dudhjung Gurung, a kin of Karsang. — HNS
