Tuskers go wild
DHANGADHI: A flock of wild elephants damaged forty huts of Kamaiyas in Baliya VDC-8, Kailali, on Friday night. One person was injured in the Pachyderm attack. The injured, a sixty-year-old Thagga Chaudhary has broken his limbs. The police came to the rescue of the people and chased the elephants after they had done enough havoc in 4 hours. —HNS
Two killed in mishaps
Dhading: A person was killed and four others injured when a bus en route to Lamjung from Kathmandu turned upside down, at Chumling of Darechowk VDC along the Prithivi Highway, Saturday morning. The driver of the ill-fated bus, Raj Kumar Kunwar of Sundapur-2, Lamjung died on the spot. While Kumar Gurung and Kamalraj Gauli of Sundarpur-2 and Bimala Shrestha of Ghyalchowk-9, Gorkha were injured. Meanwhile, a truck driver, Ramesh Ghimire, 21, of Bhandara, Chitwan died at an accident at Devdaha of Rupandehi district, Saturday morning. Two persons,who had sustained injuries in the accident have returned home after minor treatment. — HNS
New cave found
Hetauda: A new cave has been found in Kamle Bhir of Kakada VDC-6, Makawanpur district. Bikash Tamang, a local who visited the inner parts of the cave, said the cave is some 25 feet wide. He says there are beautiful sceneries and images in the inner parts. According to Tamang, a cow-shaped stone and several artistic images could be seen on the walls of the cave as well. Not all people can enter into the cave due to its congested front part. However, locals have started widening the front part of the cave in order to make an easy access to the interior. Tamang says this area can be developed as a tourist destination for domestic and foreign tourists if the cave was preserved. Tourists can reach the cave after a five hours walk from Lother Khola of Hetauda-Narayanghat road section. — RSS
Migrant worker killed
Jhapa: A Nepali migrant worker has been murdered in Malaysia. The deceased has been identified as Kishor Dhakal (28) of Charpane- 1 of Jhapa. He was found dead with knife injuries in the stomach on September 27, a day after his killing, according to his father Jaya Prasad Dhakal. He reached there two years ago for job. The body of the deceased could not be brought to Nepal yet. — RSS
Elderly drowns
Damauli: An elderly man died after drowning at the confluence of Saptagandaki and Kaligandaki rivers at Devghat of Tanahun on Saturday morning. According to police, Agni Dhar Ghimire (82) of Lekhnath Municipality- 3 of Kaski,died while taking a bath at the place. — RSS
