Property gutted

BARA: Property worth Rs 5 million was damaged when Parawanipur based Ananda Agrawal Laxmi Narayan Trading Concern of Birgunj-Pathlaiya Industrial Corridor in Bara caught fire at 9:00 pm on Wednesday night. The fire engines from Kalaiya, Birgunj and Hetauda had doused the fire at around 1:00 am. —HNS

Mishaps claim 4 lives

Biratnagar: At least four persons died in various incidents in Morang in the past two days. An unidentified woman of her seventies died when a motorcycle hit her in Morang's Mrigauliya-9 along the East West Highway on Wednesday night. Harka Gahatraj, 24, a resident of Tehrathum's Chuhandanda VDC-4, died after he fell off a swing on Wednesday afternoon. In another incident, Amrit Shrestha, 36, a resident of Sunsari's Mahendranagar-3, who had gone missing while taking a dip in Saptakoshi River on Tuesday evening, was found dead on Wednesday. His brother had died in the river on Tuesday itself. — HNS

Food poisoning

Tanahun: Twenty people of Musekhola in Byas Municipality-1 have been admitted to Damauli Hospital after they complained of stomach-ache, vomiting and diarrhoea on Wednesday night. Dr Swairita Kafle said they had fallen ill due to food poisoning. — HNS
