Three killed in India

DAMAK: Three Nepalis were killed when a jeep with Indian number plate met with an accident at Lalpur near Nakshalbari of India on Wednesday. The deceased are Santosh Budhathoki, Sanubhai Darjee and Rabin Subba of Mechinagar Municipality of Jhapa. — HNS

Two held with arms

RAUTAHAT: A joint team of Nepal Police and Armed Police Force personnel detained two persons along with arms from Rajdevi VDC on Thursday. The arrested are Narendra Chand, 45, and Ramnath Sahani, 55, of Hatiya VDC of Sarlahi. Police seized guns and bullets from them. — HNS

Two hurt in mishaps

BARA: Two persons were injured in separate mishaps in Bara on Wednesday. Rameshwor Shah, a resident of Telkuwa-1, was injured when a vehicle carrying APF personnel hit him at Telkuwa. He is being treated in Birgunj. Meanwhile, Nasaruddin Ansari, a resident of Jhitkaiya-6 of Bara, was injured when a motorbike hit him in Kalaiya. Ansari is undergoing treatment in Kalaiya, the police said. — HNS

Envoy to Vietnam

KATHMANDU: The government has appointed Nepal’s ambassador to South Korea Kamal Prasad Koirala as the ambassador to Vietnam as well. He was appointed ambassador to Vietnam as well as per the Interim Constitution. — RSS
