Kathmandu: The SC on Friday issued show cause notices to government authorities to furnish explanations on the Ordinances promulgated by the government. A single bench of Justice Damodar Prasad Sharma issued the notice to the President’s Office, PM’s Office and CA Chairman Subas Nembang to furnish written explanations on why they needed to promulgate the Ordinances. — HNS

Water supply hit

DHADING: Locals of Chhatre Deurali VDC-4 in Dhading have been reeling under acute water shortage, after the water supply was disturbed due to the operation of a stone mine near the water source. Raj Kumar Chital, a local said, said they couldn’t get drinking water as the water source had been buried due to the operation of the stone mine. — HNS

Chief Justice’s call

Kathmandu: Chief Justice Kedar Prasad Giri on Friday urged the public to fight against corruption. “It is the government’s responsibility to control corruption and abuse of power but everybody can help end the anomalies,” said CJ Giri at a book release function.
