Three houses gutted

SANKHUWASABHA: Three houses were gutted at Khamlingbasti of Baneshwor-6 in Sankhuwasabha on Sunday night. The houses belonging to Rel Bahadur Tamang, Padam Tamang and Bhola Tamang were burnt to ashes after a short-circuit set them ablaze at around 10 pm . The fire gutted property worth Rs 700,000, the police said, adding that the fire was doused after three hours with the help of the locals. — HNS

Inclusive army sought

RAJBIRAJ: Chairman of Dalit Janajati Party (DJP) Bishendra Paswan warned of conflict if only certain groups and castes were included in the national army in the name of integration of NA and PLA. Speaking at the first convention of the party in Rajbiraj on Monday, he stressed on the need for proportional inclusion of dalits, indigenous people and other marginalised groups in the national army. Paswan, who is also a CA member, accused the Prime Minister of acting as a PM of a party and that a new Nepal could not be made from the working style of the present government. On the occasion, president of Nepal Sadbhawana Party and CA member Sarita Giri accused Madhes-based parties of forgetting their major agenda. — HNS
