Two killed in mishap

DHADING: Two persons were killed and four injured in a road mishap in Dhading district on Friday night. Jagat Bahadur Tamang died on the spot when a mini-truck heading to Raksing village from Gajuribazaar overturned at Keurini village development committee at around 9 pm, the police said. An unidentified person who was injured in the accident breathed his last at Bir Hospital in Kathmandu, said the Gajuri Area Police Office. The injured are being treated at Bir Hospital. — HNS

Jeep-hit injures kid

TANAHUN: A child was critically injured when a jeep heading to Ramjakot from Bhimad hit her in Tanahun district on Friday night. Five-year-old Bimala Thapa was critically injured in the accident, Tanahun District Police Office said, adding that she was referred to Manipal Hospital after preliminary treatment in Gandaki Hospital in Pokhara. — HNS

PLA fighter thrashed

KALIKOT: Cadres of the CPN-UML affiliated Youth Force thrashed Samarjung Kadayat, secretary of PLA’s Seventh Division, on the premises of Kalika Secondary School in Gela VDC of Kalikot on Saturday. Kadayat was on leave to attend the SLC sent-up exam. YF cadres Lanka Bahadur Shahi and Kamal Bahadur Shahi were allegedly involved in the incident and they have been arrested, according to the police. Meanwhile, YF said the two were its cadres but denied that they were involved in beating up Kadayat. — HNS
