ITAHARI: Ashok Suret, a resident of Sunsari’s Sripur died while he was run over by a tipper on Saturday. Suret was working as a labourer for the reconstruction work of Koshi embankment. Construction workers halted all works of reconstruction following the incident. —THT Online


Man falls off a cliff

DOLAKHA: An elderly man was killed when he fell off a cliff in Dandakhakra, the southern belt of Dolakha on Friday. The deceased has been identified as Bhairab Bahadur Khatri, 74, of Surke’s Daduwa in Ramechhap district. The deceased fell from the cliff on his way to his relative’s home, said local Bishnu Bhandari. —RSS

Mishaps claim two

SARLAHI: Two persons were killed in separate mishaps in Sarlahi district on Friday night. Hridaya Karan Das, 58, a resident of Sisaut VDC-4 who was the chief priest in local Ramjanaki Temple was killed when he fell off a tree, the District Police Office said. Meanwhile, Babita Kumari Mahato, 9, a resident of Kabilasi-,7 was killed when a bullock-cart ran over her. — THT Online

Journo awarded

LAMJUNG: Journalist Ash Gurung of Lamjung was awarded with the Sirjanshil Patrakarita Prize instituted by Naulo Sungava, a bimonthly newspaper on Friday. Gurung was awarded at the sixth anniversary of the bimonthly paper published in Lamjung. Civil society Lamjung Chairman Bal Krishna Baral had handed over the prize to Gurung. The prize carries a purse of Rs 1,100 and a certificate. —RSS

Child found dead

NEPALGUNJ: Human rights organisations have demanded investigation into the case of the death of 10-year-old child labourer, Rajendra Pokhrel, who was found dead at the bus park near Puapa Lal Chowk on Saturday. Pokhrel was working at Shiva Shakti Hotel. His body was found behind Banke Model Academy School’s building covered with a cloth. He was an inhabitant of Nayabasti, Deudakala VDC. — RSS
