Two persons killed

GORKHA: Lightening killed two persons and injured 40 others in Kharibot VDC in Gorkha district on Saturday night. The deceased have been identified as Prem Maya Sapkota, 61, and Chhamnath Poudel, 63, of Kharibot-1, Gorkha District Police Office said. The injured are undergoing treatment in Kharibot sub health post. The lightning had hit a transformer in Kharibot bursting it into flames affecting the 40 households it was supplying power to, police inspector Yadav Dhakal said. — THT Online

15 hurt in bus mishap

TANAHUN: Fifteen passengers were injured when a bus met with an accident in Salbisne of Bhanu VDC-5 on Sunday morning. The bus was heading to Dumre from Besisahar. Injured Puspalal Shrestha, Bindu Adhikary and Ujeli BK are undergoing treatment in Manipal Teaching Hospital Pokhara while the rest of them are undergoing treatment in Dumre based Laxmi Hospital, the district police office said. The Dumre Police has impounded the bus taking its driver under custody for further investigation. — THT Online
