Road mishap

DHULIKHEL: A person died while another was injured in a road mishap at Tinpiple of Panchkhal VDC on Monday. Shashi KC of Sindhupalchowk’s Sangachowk died after a truck hit his motorbike. Raju KC, the deceased’s brother, who was riding pillion, was injured. The Dhulikhel hospital sent Raju to the Kathmandu-based B&B Hospital. — HNS

GAIGHAT: Wild elephants killed trampled Hira Tamang, 42, to death at Rampur of Udaypur on Sunday. Tamang was a resident of Thoksila-7. Surya Tamang, 62, of Thoksila-2 was critically injured in the attack. Tamang is undergoing treatment in a health post, the police said. — HNS

CIAA decree to PEs

KATHMANDU: The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) directed Public Enterprises to hold entrance exams for those who want to join the entities as section officers. Only those candidates, who pass the entrance tests, shall be allowed to sit in the final tests. The anti-corruption body has asked the PEs to ensure representation of all backward communities.
