Abductee freed

BARA: The police on Sunday freed sixty-two-year old Ramagya Prasad Yadav, former vice-chairman of Balirampur Village Development Committee from the clutches of abductors. An unidentified gang had abducted Yadav of Phulbariyatole in Balirampur village development committee on October 17. The police said it managed to set Yadav free while the abductors were shifting him to an undisclosed location from Narahi. The abductors, however, managed to flee, the police added. — HNS

Highway blocked

HETAUNDA: People have created obstructions on the Sanopokhara section of the Kanti Highway on Monday to draw the attention of the Hetaunda Municipality towards bad shape of the road section. The road is dotted with potholes, said protesters. According to the demonstrators, the section of the highway turns into dirt road during the winter and looks like a sewer during the rainy season. The obstruction has forced vehicles, which were headed to Hetaunda municipality, to take a different route. The demonstration affected scores of passengers. — HNS
