Road mishap
SURKHET: Two persons died when a jeep hit them near the Surkhet District Health Office on Wednesday. The District Police Office Surkhet identified the dead as 39-year-old Kunta Nepali of Birendranagar municipality 6 and her seven-year-old nephew Sandesh Nepali. According to the police, Sandesh died on the spot while Kunta breathed her last in the Regional Hospital Surkhet. — HNS
AIDS scourge
SANKHUWASABHA: Jevan Pandey, 35, of Khandbari Municipality-2 here died of AIDS. He died while undergoing treatment in Kathmandu on Monday, his uncle Budhdi Pandey said. Pandey had gone to Mumbai for employment 13 years ago. After he was diagnosed with AIDS there, Pandey had returned home, said his friend, Budhdi Pandey. — HNS

Choutara: Business at Tatopani checkpoint that remained halted for three weeks resumed on Wednesday. The transaction started after an agreement was reached between the Nepali and Chinese parties. Around 200 containers, carrying goods from China, were stranded in Khasa for three weeks after the both sides disputed over branded goods. — RSS
Two killed in mishap
Birendranagar: Two persons were killed in a road mishap near Surkhet District Office on Wednesday. The police said Kunta Nepali, 39, and her nephew Sandesh Nepali, 7, of Birendranagar Municipality-6 died when a jeep them. While Sandesh died on the spot, Kunta in Surkhet Hospital. Refugees seek talks
Damak: Nepal should resume talks with Bhutan on the repatriation of Bhutanese refugees after the formation of a permanent committee to handle the issue, three organisations’ of refugees demanded. The common front of the three Bhutanese parties in exile, National Front for Democracy, at its meeting held recently demanded that the Nepal government lobby for the cause of the refugees, who wish to return home. — HNS
