Curfew on in Siraha

SIRAHA: District Administration Office Siraha imposed curfew from 9 pm on Tuesday to 6 am on Tuesday on Siraha section of the East-West Highway. Acting CDO Dilip Lamichhane said the curfew was clamped from Balan Khola in the east to Bandipur in the west to escort the vehicles that have been stranded due to the indefinite transport strike called by Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum to protest the seizure of private property by Maoists in Mirchaiya. The administration had imposed the curfew on the highway on Monday night. — HNS

Motorcyclist dead

KAVRE: Motorcyclist Raj Kumar Lama (32) of Shyampatti VDC-6 died when he was hit by a mini-truck at Janagal VDC-1 on Araniko Highway on Tuesday. The truck was heading to Banepa from Kathmandu when it hit Lama’s motorcycle. The police said Lama breathed his last in Banepa-based Shir Memorial Hospital. Pillion rider Bir Bhadra Ghimire of Dhulikhel-1 sustained serious injuries in legs and head and he has been rushed to B&B Hospital in Lalitpur. — HNS
