MAHOTTARI: A youth of around 20 years of age was found dead at Banauli Chowk in Jaleshwor on Tuesday. Police suspected that the youth might have been murdered as there were bruises on his face and body. — HNS

Students call off stir

ITAHARI: Students affiliated to several Madhesi parties on Tuesday called off the agitation that had left the Purbanchal Engineering Campus for over 45 days. The agitation was called after the death of a student — Kundan Shaha. The agitation was called off after two separate agreements were reached with the campus administration and the Dharan Area Police Office on Monday and Tuesday. Highway obstructed

Chandranigahpur: Demanding to shift the base camp of the Armed Police Force, locals at Jungletole of Chandranigahpur VDC in Rautahat district disrupted the traffic on Mahendra Highway for five hours on Tuesday. The disruption was lifted after the local administration agreed to shift the camp. The APF camp was established there after a rise in cases of robberies in the area. However, locals said that there was no respite from the criminal activities despite the establishment of the camp. — HNS

Truck-hit hurts one

NARAYANGARH: A motorcyclist was hurt when a truck heading to Bharatpur from Ratnanagar hit his bike at Tikauli jungle on Mahendra Highway on Monday night. The Injured, Dilli Sharma, 50, of Bharatpur-11 is undergoing treatment in Bharatpur Hospital, police said. — HNS

Four hurt in mishap

TANAHUN: Four persons were hurt when a car heading to Damauli from Dumre collided with a bus bound for Kathmandu from Pokhara at Kamalbari in Tanahun district on Tuesday. Critically injured Basanta Bhattachan, Bikash Dangol, Purusottam KC and Sanu Khem Baja, who were travelling in the car, were sent to Pokhara for treatment, police said, adding that bus driver Chitra Bom Khadka was arrested. — HNS
