Diarrhoea claims lives

KALIKOT: Diarrhoea has claimed the lives of two persons while eight were in serious condition in Kalikot’s Chhapre village development committee. The

disease has been spreading in the VDC since Thursday. Five-year-old Adichandra Neupane and 44-year-old Batte Neupane of Chhapre VDC-8 died due to lack

of timely treatment, a local Dinesh BK said. Senior assistant health worker Katak Mahato of the Kalikot District Health Office said a team of health workers had been sent to Chhapre VDC. —HNS

Boulder crushes man to death

CHITWAN: A 40-year-old man was crushed to death when a boulder fell on the van he was driving in Kerabari, Chitwan, on Saturday. The Chitwan District Police Office said Khadag Bahadur Shah of Golpark in Butwal died on the spot when the boulder fell on the Kathmandu-bound van along the Mugling-Narayangarh road. — HNS

Kidnapping accused lynched

RAJBIRAJ: Locals on Sunday thrashed 50-year-old Gudu Mandal of Siswabelhi village development committee- 9, Saptari, to death for his alleged involvement in abduction on Chhabi Shah two days ago, district police office Saptari said. Another accused, Dev Kant Chaudhary, was admitted to Sagarmatha zonal hospital after he was critically hurt in the incident. Whereabouts of Shah are still unknown. The locals also staged chakkajam at Karchuhiya in Saptari along the East-West highway to protest the abduction. — HNS
