SIRAHA: Two persons were hurt when an armed group attacked them in Nawarajpur-8, Siraha, on Monday night. “Kaushila Devi Shah and her neighbour, Balram Shah, were critically injured in the incident when 14 dacoits detonated a socket bomb in the midst of robbery on Monday night,” Armed Police Force officer said, adding that both the injured were undergoing treatment in a local health post. — HNS

Fire in soap factory

ITAHARI: Property worth Rs 22 lakh was destroyed on Tuesday when a fire broke out at Pashupati Food, Oil and Soap Industry in Sonapur-2 of Sunsari, factory’s administration source said. The fire destroyed goods, including oil, soaps, machine and raw materials, Duhabi Area Police office said. The fire was put out with the help of locals and a fire engine from Inaruwa within two hours. — HNS

Tansporter killed

KAPILVASTU: An unidentified gang killed a transport entrepreneur in Kapilvastu on Monday night. Indal Yadav of Krishnanagar-2 was killed when the gang attacked him with a sharp weapon, police inspector Kamal Nepal said. Police have arrested six persons for interrogation in connection with the incident. Protesting the incident, locals obstructed traffic on Krishnanagar-Badhani road on Tuesday. — HNS
