RJP leader dies

SANKHUWASABHA: Fifty-five-year old Kajilal Shrestha of Rastriya Janshakti Party and candidate from Sankhuwasabha Constituency No 1 died while undergoing treatment at Om Nursing Home, Kathmandu, on Tuesday night. He had been bedridden for a long time. He was cremated at Arya Ghat in Kathmandu on Wednesday. — HNS

MMT abduct cop

MAHOTTARI: Activists of the Madhesi Mukti Tigers on Wednesday abducted police head constable Patilal Chaudhary from Ramgopalpur VDC of Mahottari. Chaudhary, a resident of West Pipra VDC in Saptari, was posted at the Dhanusha district police office. Dhanusha DSP Rup Kumar Neupane said the MMT cadres abducted Chaudhary when he had gone to Ramgopalpur VDC on a personal business. MMT commander Sangram Singh owned up the abduction and said Chaudhary would be released if MMT cadre Surya was set free. Surya was held on Tuesday. — HNS

MAHENDRANAGAR: ANNISU-Revolutionary has called upon all government schools to enroll students in Grades I to X free of charge till the new government introduces a new policy.
