Six hurt in blast

BIRGUNJ: Six persons were injured in a bomb blast at Maisthan in Birgunj on Monday evening. The bomb was detonated on the road in front of the Parsa FNJ office. A report from Gaur said an unidentified gang detonated three time bombs at several places at Gehadi Guthi and Dharampur VDCs of Rautahat on Tuesday morning, police said. The blasts, however, caused no physical damage, police added. Meanwhile, the JTMM-J said its cadres led by Kishan Singh detonated the bombs. — HNS/ RSS

Seven NC cadres hurt

PHIDIM: Seven Nepali Congress cadres were hurt when infuriated CPN-UML cadres attacked them at Nangi VDC in Panchthar after the election results were announced on Monday night. Two others have disappeared after the incident. UML candidate Ganesh Kambang lost from Panchthar Constituency No 1. NC regional chairman Manprakash Khewang including seven were hurt when they were attacked near Kambang’s house at Ganesh Chowk at Nangi VDC. Two NC cadres Dambar Yokpangden and Padam Yokpangden have gone out of contact, said NC Panchthar district secretary Narendra Kerung. — HNS
