One dead, 8 injured

DHADING: One person died and and eight persons including a child were hurt at Sundarangi village in Mahadevsthan village development committee on Wednesday night when lightening struck them. Chet Bahadur Syantang died and eight persons including Gopal Syantang, Rajendra Syantang, Ram Bahadur Syantang and Suryaman Syantang of the Sundarangi village were hurt, locals said, adding, it is difficult to take the injured for treatment as the site lies in remote part of the district. — HNS

Man shot dead

BARA: An unidentified gang reportedly opened fire in Itahar of Bara’s Narahi-6 on Thursday afternoon, killing one person and injuring two. Chokat Raut of Narahi village development committee ward number six was shot by an unknown gang, the Bara district police office said, adding that Dharmendra Shah Sonar and another unidentified person were injured. MP’s van ‘vandalised’

PALPA: A group of people led by Khagisara Pademagar allegedly vandalised a van used by CPN-Maoist parliamentarian Santosh Budhamagar for election campaigning at

Foksinghkot in Palpa on Thursday. Windowpane of the vehicle was smashed and some election materials was stolen, Maoist Palpa district committee said in a press statement on Thursday. The committee alleged that Maoist cadres Narayan Karki and Rajan Karki were manhandled at Masyam village development committtee on Wednesday. — HNS
