Woman hurt in blast

RAUTAHAT: A woman was injured when a bomb went off at Gaur in Rautahat district on Thursday. Nitu Ananda, 36, a resident of Sitamadi Pratapgunj of India was injured when a bomb exploded in New Shivashakti Emporium at Gaur-3 while she was shopping, Rautahat District Police Office said. She said the bomb was planted by an unidentified gang of three persons. Ananda is undergoing treatment in Gaur Hospital. Eyewitnesses said the assailants had managed to escape even though there was a police team patrolling the area near the incident site. The explosion had caused minor damage to the surrounding shops shattering their windowpanes.Investigation into the incident is on, Rautahat District Police Office said. — HNS
