Cops nab two

ITAHARI: Police on Monday arrested two persons on the suspicion of involvement in murder of Bikram Prasad Shah, the manager of Rastriya Banijya Bank in Rajbiraj. A special police team from Saptari arrested them after a week-long efforts, police said but refused to disclose their names as a probe is on. The policemen in plain clothes had to open fire at Dharan road while trying to arrest them. — HNS

Minister in Barhabise

BARHABISE: Minister for Peace and Reconstruction Ramchandra Poudel on Monday said any form of dictatorship imposed by the Maoist would not be acceptable. Addressing a function organised by the Nepali Congress in Barhabise, he said most of the demands of the Maoists have been addressed but they are still not returning the property they have seized. “Prachandra has been trying to be the first president of the country and this symbolises the ambition in Maoist leadership,” he said. — HNS

Property gutted

BARA: Properties worth Rs 3 lakh were gutted when a fire engulfed three houses at Madhurijabdi-3 of Bara on Sunday. The fire gutted houses belonging to Gajendra Chaudhari, Buddhiram Chaudhari and Jogendra Chaudhari, police informed. — HNS
