NAWALPARASI: A team comprising Minister for Health and Population Giriraj Mani Pokharel and border expert Buddhi Narayan Shrestha and administrative officer at the Nawalparasi DAO, Srinath Poudel, visited the Susta region on Monday. “The border dispute should be

resolved at the government level of Nepal and India,” Pokharel said after the inspection. The Susta dispute has arisen because the Narayani river has changed its course, Shrestha said. Talks were held between high-level officials of Nepal and India 10 days ago to resolve the dispute, said Poudel. The team also held interaction with locals. — HNS

Rs 3.5 lakh looted

Siraha: An unidentified gang looted a staffer of a private firm in Churiya (Udaypur district), along the Kadmaha-Gaighat road, on Monday evening. The gang of seven robbed Rs 3.5 lakh and a mobile phone set at gunpoint from Ramudgar Mahato, a staffer of the Lahan-based dealer of Virgin Star Beer. — HNS

Varsity appointments

Kathmandu: Chancellor and Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala has appointed officials in three universities. Prof Dr Suryalal Amatya and Dr Bhim Raj Adhikari have been appointed rector and registrar of the Tribhuvan University, the Ministry of Education and Sports said on Monday. Dr Om Sharma and Dr Khadgaman Shrestha have been appointed registrars of the Pokhara University and Lumbini Bouddha University. Meanwhile, a committee has been formed under the coordination of Minister for Education and Sports, Pradip Nepal, for suggesting names for appointment in the TU Service Commission. — RSS
