DDC office padlocked
RAUTAHAT: The Rautahat chapter of the Local Body Employees’ Association padlocked the Rautahat District Development Committee office indefinitely on Thursday, demanding secure environment to work in the offices. The association said there was no working environment in the offices due to threats from various groups and parties. President of the association Deependra Yadav also expressed solidarity with the ongoing agitation of VDC secretaries. — HNS
Border surveillance
New Delhi: India is all set to step up surveillance on the Indo-Nepal border. Speaking to the mediapersons in Lucknow, the newly-appointed director-general of the armed Seema Suraksha Bal Gopal Sharma said the SSB will spruce up its intelligence and surveillance on the Indo-Nepal border. He added that emphasis would be put on stopping infiltration of undesirable elements from Nepal. Sharma said, “The situation will go out of hand if smuggling of drugs and weapons is not checked.” — HNS
