Rs 5 lakh looted

MAHOTTARI: Eight Nepali and Indian bandits robbed property worth Rs 5 lakh from a passenger bus heading to Baglung from Kakarvitta at Mahottari-based Banke Jungle on Friday night. The robbers got into the bus in the guise of passengers from Lahan and took the bus into the jungle before looting, the Mahottari District Police Office said, adding they robbed 50 passengers of cash, goods, jewellery and mobile sets. — HNS

PHIDIM: The police on Saturday arrested one Chaturman Rai of Phidim-9 in Panchthar for mistreating chief and staffers of the Phidim-based Nepal Telecom office in an inebriated state on Friday, police said. — HNS

Bodies identified

KALAIYA: Two bodies of youths found on Friday at Inarwa Sira VDC-8 of Bara district have been identified. Mishrilal Shaha Kanu, 20, and Sanjay Shaha Kano, 24, from Uchidih VDC-4 of the district were shot dead. SP Shyam Khatri said investigation into the incident was underway. — RSS
