Oli gets new kidney

NEW DELHI: Senior leader of the CPN-UML and former deputy prime minister KP Sharma Oli underwent kidney transplant at the Apollo Hospital on Monday. Radhika Oli said her husband was in the intensive care unit and will be kept there for at least 10 more days. Meanwhile, a CPN-UML leader, Vidya Bhandari, who is here for the treatment of blood cancer, is reported to be suffering from chronic diarrhoea. She has been admitted to the Apollo hospital. — HNS

UML-Maoist meet

KATHMANDU: General Secretary of CPN-UML Madhav Kumar Nepal and CPN (Maoist) chairman Prachanda held a meeting on Monday at the former’s residence in Koteshwor and discussed the formation of a republican front, CPN-UML sources said. Two commit suicide

TANAHUN: Meen Bahadur Tamang, 47, of Byas-10 committed suicide by jumping into Madi River at Bhateri on Monday. In another incident, a woman jumped into Seti river from the bridge near Bhimad bazaar and drowned, police said. — HNS
