Four JTMM-J cadres held
BANKE: Police on Saturday made public four cadres of Janatantrik Tarai Mukti Morcha-Jwala. Minmar Lama, SP, Banke, said they were recently held with weapons by policemen posing themselves as the person to pay them the asked amount. Those arrested had demanded Rs 4 lakhs from a Nepalgunj-based businessman, who promised to give them Rs 20,000. As the police approached them pretending to pay the amount, the cadres were arrested. An exchange of fire was reported between the two parties. — HNS

Man shot dead

KAPILVASTU: Najir Musalman, a resident of Gorakhpur in India, was killed in exchage of fire in Bhalukharka forests of Manapur Village Development Committee, Kapilvastu on Saturday. While Najir died on the spot, Brijesh Patel Patel, who sustained serious injuries, was admitted tothe Lumbini Zonal hospital, Butwal. According to Bikram Singh Thapa, the
Superintendent of Police at District Police Office, Kapilvastu, the cause for the firing was financial. Thapa said the

Religious feat
SANKHUWASABHA: Rajendra Sapkota (22) started meditating in a nine-foot deep ditch in Khandbari-1 on Saturday. A resident of Panauti Municipality had been meditating without oxygen. He is associated with Manokranti Campaign since 2006 and named as Shri Gham. “This is the first miraculous performance by the member of Manokranti Campaign in our district,” said Devraj Giri, the district coordination committee president of the MC. — HNS
