Man kills father

PHIDIM: A man killed his father in Chowkmagu VDC in Panchthar district on Saturday night. Dipak Rai, a resident of Chokmagu-8, killed his father Dilli attacking him with khukuri following a family dispute, police said. Dilli, who was critically injured in the attack died on the way to hospital, the Panchthar District Police Office said. Dipak has been held for investigation. — HNS

Youth electrocuted

PHIDIM: One person was electrocuted while fishing in Panchthar district on Sunday night. Bishal Rai, 25, a

resident of Phidim VDC-3, was killed when an electric current passed in the Feme river had caught him. The body was handed to the deceased’s kin after post-mortem, the Panchthar police said. — HNS

Road construction

Tahahun: The construction of separate sections of Dhorbarahi Marga and Shringa Marga in the district started Monday. The construction is being funded by Rural Area Access Improvement Programme. The 9 km section each of Dhorbarahi Marga (21 km) and Shringa Marga (34km) will be constructed. — RSS
