Girl run over

BARA: Seven-year-old Afsana Sagir, daughter of Mohammad Sagir of Rampur Tokani-3, Bara, died on the spot when a truck ran over her on Monday. The truck, bound for Birgunj from Hetaunda, hit Afsana in front of Dabur Nepal Industries in the Birgunj-Pathlaiyya road section at 10:30 am, police said. — HNS

JTMM’s claim

RAJBIRAJ: The Janatantrik Terai Mukti Morcha (JTMM) on Monday made it public that the government has been trying to hold talks with it. The JTMM has also withdrawn its Terai bandh scheduled for Kartik 19 and 20. JTMM coordinator Jaya Krishna Goit, in a statement, said the JTMM has made public its commitment to the government for a dialogue.
