Man abducted
BARA: An armed group of seven persons abducted one Bhola Shah Teli of Kalaiya-5, Bara, on Saturday night and took him to an undisclosed location, locals said. The cause of his abduction is yet to be known. — HNS
Child-killer in custody
Pokhara: The Kaski District Court on Sunday ruled that Jal Bahadur Gurung, who pushed two children into the Seti river, be kept in custody until a final verdict. Gurung had pushed Purna Prasad Gaudel (10) and Mamata Gaudel (8) into the river three weeks ago. A single bench of judge Birendra Kumar Bataju handed out the ruling. Gurung, against whom cases of rape and attempt to murder have been filed, was produced in court on Sunday. — HNS
Paper classification
POKHARA: The Adarsha Samaj Dainik, a local daily newspaper, has been listed in the ‘A’ category for the first time in Kaski district under the Press Council’s classification of Nepali newspapers. According to the classification of newspapers for the year 2062 BS, the newspaper was listed in the ‘A’ category. The classification was made public by the Nepal Press Council on Saturday. Adarsha Dainik Samaj is being published as a daily newspaper since 2054 BS. — HNS
