Three hurt in mishap

ILAM: Three persons were injured when two passenger buses collided near Puwakhola on the Mechi Highway on Sunday. Minibus (Na 2 Kha 2260) heading to Birtamod from Phidim and bus (Me 1 Kha 695) heading to Taplejung from Birtamod dashed against each other, said police. VDC secy abducted

BHADRAPUR: The cadres of the Madhesi Rastriya Mukti Morcha have abducted secretary of Patabhari VDC of Jhapa district, Mohammand Samuruddhin Hak. Issuing a press release, Zonal bureau member of the Morcha MA Jhapali informed that Hak was abducted from No 2 Road of Bhadrapur. One dies of snakebite

KANCHANPUR: A woman of Bhidiya of Bhangaha-2 died when she was bitten by a snake on Sunday morning. Bhagini Chaudhari, 45, died while being taken to Lahan Nursing Home after the snake bit her at 7 am when she was in the field to collect grass. — RSS

Stretchers distributed

LAMJUNG: Twenty sets of stretchers have been distributed to the same number of remote villages of eastern Lamjung. KATHMANDU: Minister for Agriculture and Cooperatives Mahantha Thakur left for New Delhi on Sunday to take part in the Second International Rice Congress 2006 to be held there on October 9 to 13. Matters relating to various aspects of paddy cultivation will be discussed during the Congress, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives.
