KANCHANPUR: Police on Thursday evening arrested a man in possession of two kilograms of hashish from Kaluwapur area of Shuklaphanta Municipality-11 in Kanchanpur.

A joint team deployed from Regional Investigation Bureau and Jhalari-based Area Police Office (APO), arrested 21-year-old Jaya Japrel during a search at Pillariphant of Shuklaphanta Municipality-8.

The security personnel waylaid a bike (Se 2 Pa 8016) heading in an eastward direction and arrested Japrel with the hashish hidden inside a bag, said Inspector Mohan Saud of Area Police Office, Jhalari.

Japrel is currently under detention at the APO and will face a case for transporting illegal drug.
